St. Paul Little Rams Preschool believes childhood is a time of warmth, security, exploration, and discovery. Young children are active, social individuals who benefit from exploring the world around them. Children learn best by being active participants in their own learning. St. Paul Little Rams Preschool will provide an atmosphere in which young children can work and play together in a child-centered environment utilizing a developmentally appropriate curriculum.
Since children are natural scientists and are motivated to solve problems, our program supports STEAM instruction through meaningful and connected experiences. Meaningful “play” is children’s work. Emphasis will be on learning which permanently affects the child’s total development and personality. This includes spiritual, emotional, physical, cognitive, and social development as well as the development of self-esteem within each child. The unique learning styles of children are considered, and children are encouraged to make choices, accept the consequences, and participate actively in learning.
Children’s curiosity to learn new things influences classroom planning and their investigations are hands-on. Intentional learning experiences and a child-centered environment will help build a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
The goal of the St. Paul Little Rams Preschool is to nurture a faith-based child-centered learning environment that meets the unique needs of children using a developmentally appropriate experiential learning curriculum. The curriculum will engage the children in a faith-based “learning by doing” model that supports our K-8 STEAM curriculum model of active inquiry and problem solving. St. Paul Little Rams Preschool will use Diocese of Columbus Early Learning Course of Study.
